WIC (Women Infants Children) is a Special Supplemental Nutrition program sponsored by the federal government through the oversite of the United States Department of Agriculture. It is a program that provides supplemental foods, health care referrals and nutrition education to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, as well as infants and children up to age five that are found to be at nutritional risk.
